Countdown Timer

Set a target date and time to see a live countdown. Name and save up to 5 events — they persist across sessions.

About this tool

A countdown timer displays the time remaining until a future date and event — live, down to the second. This page lets you create named countdowns (e.g. "Wedding", "Product Launch", "Vacation") and saves them locally so you see them every time you visit.

The countdown URL is shareable: copy the link to send a colleague or friend the exact same countdown with the event name preserved.

How to use it

  1. 1Pick a target date and time in the future.
  2. 2Give the event a name so it is recognisable.
  3. 3Watch the live countdown — days, hours, minutes, and seconds.
  4. 4Copy the shareable link to send the countdown to others.

Common use cases

  • Counting down to a wedding, holiday, or anniversary
  • Building a "days until launch" widget for a product or campaign
  • Tracking a deadline, exam, or important deliverable
  • Counting to a new year, birthday, or sporting event
  • Sharing a countdown link with friends or a team

Frequently asked questions

Can I save more than one countdown?

Yes. The page stores up to 5 named events in your browser. They persist across sessions on the same device.

Will my friends see the same countdown if I share the link?

Yes. The target date and event name are encoded in the URL — opening it on any device reproduces the same countdown.

Does it count down past the target?

Once the target time passes, the timer reaches zero. You can update the target to a new future date to start over.

Does it work in different time zones?

The target date is stored in absolute time (UTC). When the link is opened, the countdown shows the remaining time until that absolute moment — so all viewers count down to the same instant, regardless of where they are.
